The Beatles were right ...

Money really can't buy happiness.
Just ask this guy.

So that got me thinking ... would winning the lottery be worth it?

If you want to know my opinion, here it is: I think the lottery is a horrible waste of money and leads to debt, broken homes and massive disappointment. Even for the winners.

just curious but do you really think the lotto should be banned? isn't that almost like saying "sugar rots your teeth so we shouldn't sell it?" wouldn't it be better to have better teaching about the negative impacts of gambling on your 1) finances 2) home 3) emotions?

Hmmm ... good point. I hadn't thought through the implications of that when I wrote that. That seems like something a socialist society would do, huh? One of the great things about this country is that you are free to waste your money if you want to. Really, though, what is the point of the lottery? I feel like there are better ways to earn money ...
