JJ Heller

Hi guys. It's Friday! I'm so glad. Even though Monday was a vacation day and this was a shorter work week, I'm desperately in need of some down time. Who's with me?

Anyway, I have a new music discovery to share with you - JJ Heller. She played last night with my friend Luke this coffee shop near my house. Her voice is FANTASTIC! She wasn't feeling well last night and still her voice was flawless. For any Ingrid fans out there, she has a sound very similar to Ingrid Michaelson. (Especially on her song Grow.)

You can listen to some of her music on her MySpace page.

This was the first time she's played in Colorado Springs. There wasn't a very big crowd last night. (Not sure why - usually when Luke plays the place is packed out.) So we sat on the couch about two feet from the stage.

I hope she doesn't judge Colorado Springs on the poor turnout last night and never come back. She's super and you should go see her if you ever have the chance.

Mile High Memories

Yesterday was a day full of sun and music. John busted out some way old stuff. Both he and Ingrid Michaelson were amazing. I've seen John play three times now and been blown away every time. [Vince, you should go.]

Here's a little taste of the day.

I'm Practically Famous

So I'm going to this music festival in July up in Denver.

I'm very excited.

Check out some of the bands who are playing:

[My main man] John Mayer, Colbie Caillat, Ingrid Michaelson, Brett Dennen, OneRepublic, Dave Matthews Band and more.

But here's some fun news! One of my co-workers has a son in the band Rose Hill Drive. They are playing that day too. I haven't heard of them before but I'm excited to check them out.

Here's one of their music videos ...

Rock on, friends.

Alexa, Ingrid and Joshua

The other night a couple friends and I went to a little dive down on South Platte for a Tuesday night concert.

And I do mean dive. From the outside, the building looks like a crack house. I was a little skeered for my life as we waited in line. But inside, it's just a big room with a stage and a bar in the back. So we were just a few feet from the stage!

All three of them - Alexa Wilkinson, Ingrid Michaelson and Joshua Radin[son] - were great! I have to say, though, Ingrid was my favorite. She's hilarious and flawless on stage. Her voice is amazing.

And, of course, my camera batteries died right as the concert began, so I'm stuck with a picture of Joshua Radin from my roommate's camera phone.

If you're looking for new music (with GREAT vocals) check any one of them out.
