I did that 27 years ago when I was pregnant with Tim. I asked the checkout lady at Target when her baby was due. She looked at me and said "I don't have a baby". Gulp. Bet she still hates me. I've NEVER asked that question again unless someone tells me their pregnant. Sue in the Wayne
Last year I went to a baby shower for a friend. I didn't know the girl I was sitting next to but I could have sworn that my friend told me that she was having twins. Turns out she HAD twins about 1 1/2 years prior to me asking when she was due. Agghh! I had to sit by her for another two hours feeling like a complete moron.
No way...how did you not already know not to ask that? I usually ask around and see if others know for sure or look at the stomach a few times in conversation and see if they offer the news. I agree with Amber you should be letting co-workers know who this was...not that we'll ask anyone now!

You did not. Tell me you're lying.
I wish I could, sister.
Sadly, I cannot.
you would be safest not to ask until you see an actual head coming out....
Hmmm ... I kind of hope that never happens, Anonymous.
WHAT? Can you tell me who so I'll be sure not to ask them too?
Oooooops!!! LOL
Rest assured that you are not the first person to do that.
Oh my; been there/done that. Unfortunately.
